      Welcome to our church!

Pastors note from Scott:

As we approach Thanksgiving, I have so much to be thankful for.  The Lord has blessed me in so many ways that it is hard to count my blessings, but that doesn’t keep me from doing it! I don’t have time or space to share them all with you, but I do want to share one of them.  I am thankful for the blessing of being able to serve God and our church family here at the Martinsburg Church of Christ. Growing up, I had aspirations of either becoming a police officer or being a youth minister.  I chose to be a police officer because I knew that I could still work with youth and allow God to use me while being a “public servant”.  The best part, after 20 years in law enforcement, I am now a youth minister!  It was definitely not in my plans to get into ministry in my 40’s, but God had other plans.  I am thankful that He has blessed my ministry and I am excited about the work He is doing here.  I pray that we all take time this week to “Count Your Blessings” and thank God for all that He was, is and will be.

Prayer Team

The Prayer Team has been formed. If you were unable to attend the meeting but would like to participate, please contact Diana Pavlik personally or at pavlikdm@gmail.com or (304) 433-5460.

We would like to have persons willing to pray for individuals during the service to be available in the foyer when the call for prayer needs is made. Prayer requests can be made using the cards in the foyer then dropped in the offering box or personally contact Chris, Scott or Diana

Message from Diana Pavlik:

 Greetings,

I wanted to thank all of you for agreeing to pray for the church and the community. I am certain we will make an impact. Some of you have been included in this email because of previous association, specifically on the prayer chain. If you were not at the meeting yet received this email, please let me know if you are interested in joining the prayer team.

We have decided to have two “branches” for the prayer chain: phone call and text messages. Shirley Butler has agreed to be the starting point for the call branch, and Patti Gifft will start the text branch. Please indicate by return email which branch you prefer. I will send Patti the list generated from the cards you filled out Sunday with your preferences. If you would like to be on both (maybe a back up/ Plan B sorta thing)  please let me know.

I believe most of you receive emails on your phones. I was thinking this may be the most efficient and least annoying platform for sending group information, e.g group prayer events, general needs of the team. If that doesn’t work for you, let me know. I am going to have an announcement made during services and in the church newsletter recruiting other interested persons, just so you are aware.

Again, I believe God is going to do great things through us.

Diana
